The children’s work may be featured by an actual rescue organization. Many rescue workers do not work directly with the dogs themselves, they’re behind the scenes work brings a rescue dog to its final destination: A “fur-ever” home.

    Has the last year stressed you out a bit? How about we spend some time reconnecting with ourselves! Mindfulness is bringing awareness and attention to the present moment. When we bring mindfulness into our everyday activities, we can bring a more compassionate awareness to our feelings, judgements and responses. This class will cultivate mindfulness concepts through creative art practices. We will explore mindfulness together by engaging in fun activities such as dancing, games, explorations, and art projects. Through creative expression and exploration, children will learn skills in self-awareness, compassion, kindness, kindness and empathy. Themes will include ‘A little bit of Manic Mondays’, ‘Thoughtful Tuesdays’, ‘Wonder Wednesdays’, and ‘Fun and Games Thursdays’.

    Throughout this course, students will learn beginner computer coding on iPad using many pieces of technology such as Dash & Dot Robots. Dash & Dot are kid friendly robots used for activities involving computational thinking, math, science, music, reading, writing, and arts. Students will also use Lego Robotic kits and learn critical thinking and problem-solving skills in a fun and engaging way. Lastly, students will also build robots using Cubelets.

    A class for kids who love animals and want to learn more about them. Each week could be dedicated to a different region of the world and the wildlife there. We could spend some time each class watching parts of documentaries such as Planet Earth or Our Planet on Netflix Kids and Disney +. I can also spend time teaching kids how to search the web to do more research. Each week the kids can bring home a drawing of the animal/region of the day, write down some things they learned about the topic and give brief presentations to the class.
